Konzept/Libretto/Choreografie – Edward Clug

Turmoil and confusion over a dancing doll

Swanilda and Franz are engaged to be married. But she starts to doubt his love when he responds to the advances of the mysterious Coppélia. By chance, Swanilda discovers that the amazingly beautiful Coppélia is just a mechanical doll and devises a plan to reclaim the heart of her fiancé Franz. The ballet classicis based on E. T. A. Hoffmann's disturbingshort story ‹The Sandman›. However, in this case, the horror element of a lifelike doll is set against the backdrop of an ideal world. Edward Clug is able to combine both emotions in his evening of modern dance and complements the vivacious original music by Léo Delibes with new compositions by Milko Lazar. The luxurious interior created by the highly successful industrial designer Nika Zupanc ensures a seductively playful vervepermeates around Coppélia on stage. Clug evokes the mysterious and the bizarre by embracing the magic of beauty.

Introducing Freeze me Cabinet, Freeze me Mirror and Freeze me coat hanger designed by Nika Zupanc for Driade at Salone del Mobile 2024

The design philosophy of the Freeze me mirror and Freeze me cabinet continues the research of an idea of capturing a beautiful melting moment in an iconic way, almost as if it is a pictogram, using simple, geometrical lines and design solutions.

This time around the exciting moment of melting is streched to a bigger scale, and as such giving a beautiful frame to capture and 'freeze' a moment in which imaginary melting mirrorbends and spills over a sleek and elegant minimalistic cabinet.

The elements that all together shape this melting story can be moved around the cabinet and can also be used separately, each on its own; The Freeze me mirror can act as an exciting solo object and The Freeze me drop as a coat hanger, giving a possibility to create the new melting drama on any wall.

The design and structure of Vento sofa continues with the exploration of forms, inspired by the shape changing forces of nature, such as wind or water, allowing them to be curved softly and intuitively.

The same as for Vento armchair, Ditre's first member of Vento family, the search for the construction of this sofa family comes from imagining the natural forces of movement that through time slowly and gently shape and round the world around us.

As such, theses inspirations led to the design of a sofa, that is both elegant and clean in its visual apperance but at the same time also very generous in its comfort and softness.

The beautiful choices of signature Ditre Italia textile and colours underline the design with unexpected beauty and timeless elegance.

Arcade coffee tables, designed by Nika Zupanc for Ditre Italia

Little sisters of Arcade dinning tables share their design essence are equaly inspired by pillars, arcades, vaults and passages.

They are designed through an eclectical mix of these typical architectural elements in order to create a modular and versatile system of supports that can be used with a selection of different shapes and materials for table tops.

The created systemof supports and different table tops offers a number of possibilities for versatile compositions or single table solutions.

Cake stand, baskets, centrepiece, tray and ice bucket. A decorative motif reminiscent of embroidered trim embellishes the edges of this family of table objects made of 18/10 stainless steel with brass PVD coating.

A sculptural celebration! The @karllagerfeld x @bosaceramiche collaboration brings together two distinctive sculptures, designed by @nikazupanc & @elenasalmistraro .

Rock Karl & Pop Karl reinterpret the signature look that made Karl Lagerfeld himself an instantly recognizable feature.

We are more than trilled to introduce 911 Carerra 4 GTS, dressed in Nika’ Zupanc’s design of rose bloom blow ups, that are creating an artful second skin and turning this iconic and ultimate canvas into a landmark piece of automotive industry!

The Art car was presented at Wild at heart Porsche event, hosted by Mark Webber & Nika Zupanc in collaboration with Porsche Center Ljubljana.

Rotund and dramatic. Qualities that make for an exclusive bedroom. The sculptural impact of this bed is best appreciated when it is placed in the centre of the room.

Gioiello mirrors, a new collection, designed by Nika zupanc for Ghidini1962, is inspired by the infinite possibilities of a brass sphere as a single building block, designed to create a collection of objects and their story through repetition and play.

Brass spheres are polished to perfection, looking as precious as jewelry. By aligning them into numerous different shapes, they create a collection of versatile frames, without any other need to create new molds or tools for production.

With their simplicity they are therefore also elegantly rich in their appearance - making a basic geometric forms into exciting shapes that reflect and multiply in the mirrors, turning them into surprising and timeless wall companions.

Sé presents two installations on the occasion of this year’s London Design Festival, that showcase two new designs by Nika zupanc, Grace sofa and Silence lamp, alongside her other designs for Collection III.
